Pressure Ulcer Diagnosis Is Associated with Increased Mortality in Patients with End-Stage Renal Disease: A Retrospective Study

نویسندگان

چکیده

Pressure ulcers are associated with multiple comorbidities and annually affect approximately 3 million Americans, directly accounting for 60,000 deaths per year. Because patients end-stage renal disease (ESRD) known to present unique factors which impair wound healing, pressure diagnosed in ESRD might independently increase the risk of mortality. To investigate association between ulcer diagnosis mortality population, a retrospective analysis United States Renal Data System (USRDS) database was performed. The records 1,526,366 dialysis who began therapy 1 January 2005 31 December 2018 were included. Our showed that this population even after controlling confounding (p < 0.001). A Kaplan–Meier survival demonstrated reduced compared those without diagnosis. These results establish as significant independent factor mortality, well suggesting several potential population.

Soluble Adiponectin is a New Predictor for Cardiovascular Complications in Patients with End Stage Renal Disease

Mortality due to cardiovascular complications (CVC) in patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD) is 20 fold higher than in general population. Adiponectin (ADPN) hormone from adipose tissues accumulation in serum is attributed to reduced renal clearance. The aim of this study was to investigate the possible role of ADPN as a predictor of CVC in adult patients with ESRD on hemodialysis (HD), ...

Increased risk of Parkinson's disease in patients with end-stage renal disease: a retrospective cohort study.

BACKGROUND Studies on dyskinesia and Parkinson's syndrome associated with chronic kidney disease or end-stage renal disease (ESRD) have been mainly limited to case reports or case series studies. This population-based study investigated the risk of Parkinson's disease in patients with ESRD. METHODS From a universal insurance claims database of Taiwan, we established a cohort of 8,325 adults w...

Dentomaxillofacial Radiographic Changes in a Group of Iranian Patients with End Stage Renal Disease Undergoing Hemodialysis

Introduction: This study aims to evaluate the dentomaxillofacial radiographic changes in end stage renal disease (ESRD) patients who were on hemodialysis. Methods: Parathyroid hormone (PTH), calcium, phosphorus and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) measurements, as well as Panoramic and periapical radiographs were obtained from seventy four patients with a history of end stage renal disease (ESRD). Arterial Hypertension Is Associated with Increased Serum Lipoprotein(a) Levels in End-Stage Renal Disease Patients.

In addition to disorders in lipoprotein metabolism, several other factors are involved in the development of atherosclerotic changes in end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients. One of these is arterial hypertension. We evaluated serum lipids-total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), apolipoproteins (AI , A II , B, E), lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)]-in 109 ESRD patients on dialysis [46 on hemodialysis...
